Key R&D Themes
- Dual-Circuit Steam Generation (CN115899651A): Builds on a primary extraction circuit and a buffering circuit to absorb heat surges and uses an algorithm limiting steam-generation rate to 20%, achieving stable steam output across wide temperature swings. This departs from traditional single-stage drum systems and mitigates flash-boiling risk in piping.
- Zoned Molten-Salt Thermal Storage (CN115900373A): Uses alternating low- and high-temperature tanks and closed-loop control of the extraction/release ratio to avoid under- or over-storage. Couples with steam-system to smooth peak heat, enabling nighttime valley-filling storage.
- Embedded Pipe-Cluster + Active Cooling (CN116007390A & CN116026153A): (CN 116007390A) uses buried pipes with high-flow water/CO₂ for deep-bed heat extraction. (CN 116026153A) adds a movable reflector and piped cluster for top-layer powder cooling. They combine into a layered cooling loop from surface to core.
- Spray-Latent-Heat Exchange (CN117570729A): Atomized water droplets in the condensation zone of a heat pipe absorb high latent heat (> 2.2 MJ/kg), producing steam directly to boilers or ORC systems. Ensuring reliable atomizer and phase separation under dusty, SO₂-rich flue gas.
- Pipe-Protection Systems (CN117602618A & CN117606250A): Quartz sheathing, cooling-air films, removable ceramic boards, and multi-chamber fins enable long-term in-furnace installation by shielding heat-extraction pipes from extreme heat and abrasion.
Patent Commercial Applications
- Graphitising-furnace retrofit: Combining buried pipes, removable insulation, and mobile suction cuts cool-down from 30–40 days to < 7 days, boosting annual throughput 4–5× key for lithium-battery anode expansion.
- Alumina/ceramic kilns: Molten-salt loops and spray heat-pipes recover 350–700 °C heat for plant steam or small-scale ORC power.
- Coke-steel waste-heat islands: Over-temperature-protection units can interface with converter and sinter-plant flues for safe, rapid maintenance.
R&D Directions
- High-temperature material resilience: Long-term thermo-mechanical cycling of quartz-clad pipes and ceramic boards needs durability testing.
- Coupled-media control: Threshold-based sampling remains basic. Integrate fiber-optic/infrared imaging for predictive, model-based control.
- Environmental adaptation: Steam and spray loops must address SOₓ/dust corrosion and fouling via online cleaning or coatings.

Hunan Youre Technology Co., Ltd – Maiden 60,000tpa Anode Material Demonstration Project
On 13th June 2025, Gansu Ruizhi New Materials Co., Ltd (subsidiary of Hunan Youre Technology Co., Ltd broke ground on its 60,000 tonnes per annum lithium-ion battery graphite anode material project located in the Hongshagang Energy and Chemical Industry Concentration Zone, Minqin County, Wuwei City, Gansu Province, China, opening up green intelligent manufacturing of lithium-ion battery anode materials.
In recent years, the global new energy vehicle industry has developed rapidly, and the demand for lithium-ion batteries has exploded. As a key link in the production of anode materials, the disadvantages of high energy consumption and high pollution of traditional processes have become increasingly prominent.
In this context, China’s national ” carbon neutrality” strategy and policies clearly list “the green manufacturing of high-energy-consuming new energy materials as a key development direction”. With forward-looking layout, Hunan Youre Technology Co., Ltd developed the Y-ECO graphitisation furnace technology over many years, with “high efficiency, intelligence, safety, and low carbon” as the core, accurately solving the pain points of the industry.
Four Core Anode Material Graphitisation Innovations
Y-ECO graphitisation furnace technology integrates the four core innovations of “new furnace structure design, intelligent power transmission system, active cooling and waste heat recovery, continuous production and closed management”, which completely revolutionizes the high energy consumption, high pollution and low efficiency of traditional graphitisation production:
1. New furnace structure design
Integrating the advantages of box furnace, crucible furnace and internal series furnace, the power consumption per tonne is as low as 4500kWh, the consumption of insulation materials is reduced by 30%, and the uniformity of the thermal field is improved by 50%, which reduces the risk of furnace spraying from the root and greatly improves product consistency.
2. Smart power transmission system
Based on the three-dimensional thermal field simulation model and AI deep learning algorithm, the power transmission curve is adjusted dynamically in real time to avoid energy waste and quality fluctuations caused by manual experience, intelligently adapt to material changes, and greatly reduce the risk of furnace spraying.
3. Active cooling and waste heat recovery
Through the pre-buried heat pipe and phase change heat storage technology, the furnace side cooling efficiency is increased by 50%, the furnace top cooling efficiency is increased by 30%, and the single furnace production cycle is shortened by more than 40%. At the same time, the recovered high-temperature waste heat can be converted into electricity or used for hot water and heating.
4. Continuous production and closed management
The use of negative pressure pneumatic conveying and fully automatic loading and unloading system reduces dust emissions in the whole process by 80%, and cooperates with the closed operation of the furnace top for 90% of the time, which effectively solves the dust and volatile matter organization emission problems in the feeding and discharging process and the power transmission process.
Investment Amount
The total investment of the project is about 1.42 billion CNY (USD$202M). The project covers an area of 97 acres and is built in two phases. The phase-one 60,000tpa of anode material production capacity is expected to be trial-produced by first quarter of 2026. After reaching full production, the annual output value will be nearly 600 million CNY (USD$85.71 million), the annual tax revenue will be 36 million CNY (USD$5.14 million), and 200 people will be employed.
Local Government Welcomes Anode Material Investment
On 27th June 2025, leaders of the Minqin County Party Committee visited the project’s construction site, indicating that this key project focusing on the field of new energy materials is progressing steadily as planned. The project was implemented in Wuwei City. Relying on the rich wind and light resources and innovative technology system in the northwest, it aims to build a leading domestic green graphite anode material production base and inject strong momentum into the development of regional new energy industries.
Since its launch, the project has received high attention and policy support from the local government. At the site inspection, the leaders of the Minqin County Party Committee learned in detail about the project planning, construction progress and technical advantages, and emphasised that they will actively coordinate resources to ensure the smooth implementation of the project in power supply, land leveling and other links.
Use of Clean Energy
It is reported that the project fully utilises the energy advantages of the “wind and light province” in the northwest to achieve 100% green electricity production, and at the same time relies on the local perfect carbon-based raw material industry chain to form an efficient linkage from resources to industry. This “new energy + new materials” collaborative development model not only fits the national low-carbon transformation strategy, but is also expected to drive the cluster development of the northwest energy storage industry and provide key material support for the new energy market along the “Belt and Road”.
At present, the project has completed land acquisition, design planning and preliminary infrastructure construction, and various construction work is progressing in an orderly manner. With the subsequent equipment entry and commissioning work, this modern production base integrating technological innovation and green and low-carbon is expected to become a landmark project of the Northwest new energy materials industry in the near future, and contribute “Gansu power” to the optimisation and upgrading of China’s lithium-ion battery industry chain.
