Golden Dragon New Materials Limited (“GDNM”) is a Hong Kong limited company established on 13 December 2023, located at 4th floor, 9 Queen’s Road Central, Central, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, People’s Republic of China.
GDNM provides commentary on how energy transition minerals contribute towards the decarbonisation and electrification of the global economy, with a particular focus on the lithium-ion battery and rare earths supply chains.
GDNM founder, Mr Brendan Jephcott is an Australian who has worked in the global mining sector for more than 13 years, of which his experience covers precious metals, nonferrous metals, ferrous metals, base metals, bulk commodities, rare earths, and the lithium-ion battery industry.
For the last 9 years Mr Jephcott has focused on the burgeoning new energy industry, participating in cross-border transactions in buy-side and sell side roles, cultivating a global business network ranging from upstream resource companies, midstream intermediate product producers, and downstream consumers such as gigafactories and auto companies.
In terms of the lithium-ion battery supply chain, Mr Jephcott maintains close relationships with upstream lithium hard rock mining companies (spodumene and lepidolite), battery chemical salt companies (lithium carbonate, lithium hydroxide, nickel sulfate, cobalt sulfate, and manganese sulfate), battery component material companies (cathode, anode, separator, and electrolyte), battery cell manufacturing and packing companies (gigafactories), battery recycling companies, and new energy vehicle companies (electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles).
In terms of rare earths, Mr Jephcott has cultivated close relationships with rare earth mining and beneficiation companies, rare earth smelting and separation companies, rare earth metal and alloy companies, and NdFeB permanent magnet manufacturing enterprises.
Mr Jephcott has lived and worked in the People’s Republic of China since 2011. He has a Bachelor’s Degree from Swinburne University, Australia, speaks Mandarin Chinese, and lives in Hong Kong, China.
